Does parent needs to give permissions , when they register child to use the internet

    Hi

I have been asked by my manager if the following apply to my secondary school:

    1) Are parents required to give permission when they register their child to use the Internet in school.
A record of those who do not have permission is held by each class teacher, and by the Admin Team.

    2) Does the newsgroups needs to be blocked unless a specific use is approved for school use.

    Thanks

Surely these depend on your school policies - each school has their own, altho a general theme is common.

    1) They are not 'required to' but we ask for it anyway.
    2) Purely down to the individual school. A good web filter is likely to block by default. Whether you want it unblocked is down to IT/SLT
