Yup, definitely true. For me, it used to work out at about 2 pints (as I'm a lightweight). Did some of my best coding when a couple of pints in. :D
Same here...a few shots of whiskey and I could bang out the code like a legend
I remember a few times waking up after some booze induced coding to find it worked perfectly but i had no idea how. :confused:

I wonder if it's related to the Guinness effect, where the best pool is played after two pints of Guinness, but after 4 ability drops off sharply until you're swapping colours every shot at the 8th pint and using your cue more as a walking stick than to play the game.
The effect is real, it does make for interesting conversations though when your a uni student.
L: "How did you solve the concurency issues?"
You: "Do you have any beer?"
L: "What does that have to to do with it?"
You: "Well I'll need to recreate my process to figure out what I did"
It does bring new and fun meaning to "show me your working" though.
