    Food Waste

BBC News - Clearer food labelling plan 'to bring an end to waste'

I'm not quite sure why the government needs to get involved for such a minor amount of money!

    You think £680 is "minor"?

Plus someone has to collect and find somewhere to put all that waste, I trust you won't mind if a new landfill is sited in your area?

I think £680 is minor in the grand scheme of things!

The point is that the BBC are obviously missing the "m" sign from the end of that!

I think you've misread it - £680 is the average per household thrown away each year. There are roughly 23 million households in the UK. That works out at a staggering £15.6bn of waste food per year, if true.

Absolutely! I hold my hands up as misreading the article!
