I suppose this intended to be tongue-in-cheek [I can't find the webpage this picture came from] However I have worked at a number of schools in my time and some members of staff at some of those places had 10 keys or less definitely thought of themselves as very important. I might E-Mail this picture to them. If I do unfortunately I won't be able to see the smug expressions on their faces when they read my message.

Car key
Garage door key
Bike lock key
Shed key
House key
School main door key
Master key for classrooms
The last one makes me very important when the Site Manager forgets to unlock a classroom in the morning.

Your bunch of keys resembles mine. There are ferwer keys on my key ring. I cut the number of keys there a while ago and put the one I use less often into a key cabinet in the Server Room. I riun less trouser pockets and coat linings now.

9th January 2011, 06:04 PM #5 I would have thought the number of keys you have is more a reflection on the quality of buildings management. We no longer have a single master key as our premises team has decided certain rooms need to be on a different key
Plus there must be the exception of the super 'important' - how many keys does the queen or prime minister need to carry? Surely they have someone to carry keys and open doors for them

9th January 2011, 06:05 PM #6 In one day I will use about 90% of those keys! The joy of Key Alike locks in our place has started to die out rather rapidly due to the 1960s locks failing and no-one ordering them again, I have suggested that as part of the refurbishment of some areas that we should obtain a new suited key system and I would even work it all out and get it sorted and priced up but seems to not be seen as a good suggestion. I'd far rather just carry a dozen keys with me but seems the days of the big ring are continuing, and with our expansion I expect it to grow
