19th December 2010, 01:00 PM #2 somewhat reminds me of the pics of the silly idiot who, on exactly the same car, fitted snow chains. To the front wheels.

19th December 2010, 02:16 PM #3 Amazes me sometimes how stupid people can be, like the white van driver who was literally tail gating me earlier today when the road we were on was pretty much sheet ice underneath us. He would have been in trouble if I slowed down, because I would have been sensible and dropped down through the gears, he wouldn't have had much warning as my brakelights wouldn't have been on - idiot!

Its not listed in the BMW Brochure that they are rear wheel drive vehicles though
Well wasn't when I was looking at them for a new car.

19th December 2010, 04:29 PM #5 They are indeed RWD
They've only just released a FWD version presumably because people were stopping buying them because they're a bit difficult in ice ;D

You're 'supposed' to dab the brakes to show the change of speed (just to illuminate the lights rather than slow down), but it's rather tricky in these conditions.

Wonder what happened there? I presume the insurance company wouldn't be too keen on paying out if they were to see the video!

A significant number of people, myself included, thought videoing and giggling at "damsel in distress" was a bit uhh... crass. So, dunno, but possibly pulled because of rude comments aimed at the publisher.
