Those was taken with a Tamron 70-300mm which is okish but my favorite lens [ which lives on my camera ] is the Canon EF 100mm f2.8 USM Macro Lens. Lots of dosh [ more than the camera ] but it takes fantastic photos.

Tamron 70-300mm f4-5.6 Di LD Macro Lens - Canon Fit (5525) - Warehouse Express
The Tamron is noisy and slow at focusing but good for zoom but the Canon lens is just amazing. Blistering fast at focusing and silent.

Oh yes, I think checking the EXIF data the lens was at 300mm and there is no stability control on it. Also using a remote shutter cable which makes life a tad easier too.
