Last night I took a call at home from an Indian sounding gentleman claiming to be calling from Microsoft Windows to tell me they had been alerted that my computer may have dangerous software installed!
The call went something like this but I only managed 20 minutes before I cracked up and told him where to go
I haven't laughed so much in ages as when he told me that all the information entries in event viewer showed dangerous software installations!

15th October 2010, 02:35 PM #3 I managed to string one of these con-men along for 32 minutes last week - and they had almost exactly the same script (including double left-clicking when it should be single-clicks).

15th October 2010, 02:38 PM #4 Just had a retired teacher friend of mine come to me and say they received such a call last night, but as I spent my time hammering on to staff when she was here that cold callers are not likely to be official, she ignored them and hung up. So proud.
