    You will be fine what that happening to one engine. Of something happens to all your stuffed. What happened in the video happened on the Airbus A320 that crashed into the Hudson river, birds getting in there caused it.

    I always wondered why they can't put a grill on there.

    I would imagine anything hitting it with any force (i.e. a bird etc), would simply go straight through the grill, either whole, or diced up!

    I think the Blade off Test only checks what happens if an engine loses a blade from the turbine: Does it go flying around all over the place of is it contained in the engine housing [regardless of how the blade loss is caused]
