Can you imagine what it would be like here with 14-20" of snow in one day? For the young 20" is 0.5m. Britain would stop dead.

I've seen what that much snow in a day does, as I lived in that part of the states as a kid, good fun too!

Britain stops with 2 inches of snow, let alone 20...

I remember back when I was a kid, we had 6 foot snow drifts in my village on the IOM. Great fun. The island pretty much stopped for a week - there's not much you can do when the snow covers your doors.
