I use a piece of software called StreamTuner. It parses the oddcast/shoutcast/icecast yellowpages and presents everything in a nice and easy to read format. Just click and go.
Linux only though.

personely I like to record streams for later so when it is shoutcast station i use command line version streamripper...

Yes, streamtuner can run streamripper (if you have it installed). I have noticed though that some stations ban you if you do this. Presumably they are picking up the client agent id.
