I'm wondering why no-one else (particularly his wife-to-be) paid any attention to the planning.

No way my wife would have left that to me. I'm wondering why no-one else (particularly his wife-to-be) paid any attention to the planning.

During the planning of our wedding, it was like being engaged to Hitler! Everything I was tasked with I was pestered about and checked up on constantly, then had to confirm I'd done everything, or show her things like the place cards I made, seating plan etc to ensure they were up to standards!
This is the most absurd part of the article:
It is believed the couple have not yet married but are still together.

The most absurd part is that he promised her a wedding before but failed to go through with it

LOL that is because most women do not feel that their men-folk can be trusted to pay attention to the finer details of wedding planning. It is not in the nature of a man to obsess over the exact shade of puce or whether the font on the placecards is 12 or 14 pt but these fine details are important to a woman. As far as a man is concerned, if he turns up and everyone has a good time, he's happy. LeBoyfriend is exactly like this which is why he leaves the more intricate details of things to me and volunteers himself for the larger logistical parts. He is much happier without having to be confused by the tiny details and I'm much happier having an iron grip on the organisation of an event. It's Win-Win.

Wifey to be is planning ours (wedding that is, not bomb scare) - she's very wary of letting me plan anything to do with it...
I get told things as she goes through them, and I keep my ears open just in case theres some kind of test. The only meaningful input that I've had so far is that I've refused to wear a white suit, stating that I'll look like the blummin' man from Del Monte.
