When users browse to a web site the Smoothwall proxy URL is shown temporally in the address bar before the website is shown almost like it is doing a redirect on a redirected website. Has anyone else had this issue?

It sounds like you are using one of the the NTLM (via redirect) methods for authentication. I made the same mistake when I first got ours; you probably want one of the options further up the list: "NTLM authentication" or "NTLM identification".
Hi AngryTechnician. The NTLM wa set as identification, the issue looks like it was with the proxy bypass for local address settings was not picking up the group policy, once this was set for the smoothie it seems to of fixed the problem
Not a bad stab there @AngryTechnician, exactly what I was going to suggest - ntlm redirect being held up by some other brokenness.
Are you *sure* you don't want to come and work in Leeds ;)
