Can I run both Google Apps and live@edu under the same domain?

Still getting my head around the domain thing as my primary schools have always had this dished out by the CC.

I have setup Google Apps for Education using a Cname that points to google and this is working ok.

I would also like to test live@EDU can I simple set this up under the same domain (school.net) and point a Cname at Microsoft, as I get a few cnames fields to play with or will it stop Google Apps from working?

its the MX records that deal with the mail delivery, so I dont see why you couldnt set up a live@edu as well.

Might be jumping the gun but how do I add the microsoft online office apps. I have created a test user but all they seem to get is access to email.
