Wordpress Proxy issues
Hi, bit of a problem I'm trying to get my head around here....
Wordpress installed on our webserver (running server 2k3 and XAMPP). Inside school the BBC News RSS feed I put in the sidebar can't load. I can put the proxy settings into the wp-config.php file so it works in school but I can imagine that the feed will refuse to load outside school then as it can't find the proxy... haven't had chance to test this yet but I can imagine it will be the case.
The web server has the administrative policy in lightspeed if that's at all relevant.
Any ideas? I really could use the feeds to work in and out of school.
If im understanding correctly, the feeds should work if you set the proxy in wordpress. The webserver should then fetch via the proxy so it should work ok.
Sorry if i didnt understand ;)
Yeh that's what I've done. :) That means that it'll work in school 'cause it's going through bgfl's eduproxy but I'm assuming that it won't work outside school because the proxy isn't acessible outside.

The News Feed should be the last one in the sidebar on the right. :)
Works fine - as someone said, your webserver is doing the fetching, so it will need to go via your proxy, and that won't affect users no matter where they browse from.
