IE8 .adm file
I'm very miffed atm, as to where you can get the IE8 .adm file. So I can lock down IE8 for when the kiddies come back.
Every search i've tried hits a dead microsoft page and the only 'live' microsoft page only gets me so far....
The live page gets me to install IE8 on server 2008/Vista and extract the inetres.adml, which I've done but when I come to add the template in the group policy management editor it won't see it (I guess because it's a .adml file)
Has anyone got the .adm file? or any idea how I get this .adml file to work? would renaming it to .adm do the job?

If you have IE8 Installed on a PC, then you can find it in C:\Windows\INF\ i think.....
What Server? 03 or 08 - Vista or XP clients?

Michael

I Couldn't find them. I installed IE8 on the DC;s then they appear in group polices

Another way is to extract IE8-WindowsXP-x86-ENU.exe (or IE8-WindowsServer2003-x86-ENU.exe) with winrar/7zip to a folder where you will find inetres.adm.
You can then add this to group policy via the usual 'add template' method.
