Hi folks,
Short of an active web filtering solution, does anyone know of a way to isolate and block just Google Images?
It appears to be impossible, short of blocking Google, but I just wanted to double check.
TIA

Can't you just block gstatic.com ? which is their image hosting sites (I believe)
Steve
That doesn't appear to work unfortunately.

What bit doesn't? that's the image cache, but obviously you'll still need to block the image links to other websites assuming you want that done? or is it just the images on that page?
Steve
The images still appear.
Having checked the source the site appears to be ssl.gstatic.com. I've not tried blocking that directly, but I wonder if somehow they're delivered over SSL as the subdomain suggests?
For the moment we've been asked by the teachers not to block Google Images as it's such a "valuable teaching resource".
This morning the LA gave us the "recipe" for blocking it if we need to:
*.google.*/*tbm=isch*
*.google.*/image*q=*
*.google.*/advanced_image_search*
For videos as well:
*.google.*/*tbs=*vid*&*
