    Domain Transfer

    Were moving Internet providor soon, and our schools domain is currently under there managed service.

    When we move our domain to another company will the current entrys like the www A record come to? or will it be blank and i will have to re-add?

    Never transfered a domain before.

    They will need to be setup with your new ISP unless they have a system intergration app which can do it for you.

    Well you maybe able to keep your domain name with your old ISP.

    is it a .co.uk domain?

    Ah well you need to get some IPS (not ISP) tags from them and give them to your new provider.

    If you are using the NameServers of the old provider and want to use the new providers NameServers you will have to recreate the records.

    If you sue some 3rd party NameServer you should be ok.

    On a slightly different topic , has anybody hosted there own DNS servers for their internet domain? Would it be as easy as phoning nominet and asking them to change the NS1 and NS2 to 2 boxes running DNS on site that have public IP's? or is there more to it?
