Online Picture Gallery
My manager has been thinking about ways to get all our school taken pictures online, sports events that kind of thing. Has anyone done this already and have any particular advice? We were thinking about a basic web gallery program hosted on a server somewhere that we can use different accounts to update or view etc.

You need to take care with this one. Some of your parents will not be happy if pictures of their children appear online, even unnamed.
We do put pictures online, but in the parents' only part of our website where they must login to see them. Even then, we have a dozen or so children that we have to look out for in pictures. We always ask these parents before displaying them... most say yes to appearing in the parents' only area, but one or two presistently say no and these photos remain or school access only.

look at Gallery = normally installed on local server but many isps have it installed = Gallery | Your photos on your website
Google picasa = Free web based photo storage = https://www.google.com/accounts/Serv...ource=pwalogin
if you like picasa standard you can apply for the free Google Apps for Education which comes with a control panel to control googles apps and pupils/users = Google Apps for Education - Free Hosted Email (Gmail) for EDU
