I recommend Sea Communications in Falmouth. They do a genuinely bespoke design - you won't end up with a website that looks like every other school one. Expensive though - but you get what you pay for.

Important - ensure that the CMS is easy to use for the people who are actually going to post your content on the website - our CMS has a very low technical requirement for the users.

I would HIGHLY Recommend E4education. They did our website a few years ago and not had a problem with it. Every school in the area comments on how good our website is. The CMS is so easy to use and uploading video, photos and content is really easy. Also, all the staff are very friendly and respond to queries very quickly.

e4education does is for me. Excellent CMS, very easy to use by non-techie users with granular control and verification before posting. They also now have a good VLE platform which is proving popular. All this toggles with excellent support makes them an attractive offering when seeking a web site.

To re-iterate. Avoid schools-online.org . It has the most hideous cms behind it - treats you like an utter idiot, won't let you add a simple page with a link image or two (you know html? Wow!), makes a 2 minute job into a frustrating half hour marathon of mystery navigation round their ridiculous site trying to find the template which comes close to doing the simple task you want to do. Which you could do in html in a minute.

It would probably be quicker and less frustrating to make a site out of static html pages. And it would bookmark properly.

Here endeth todays rant. Thanks for reading.

Whatever website you chose I would ensure that it allows your pupils to create their own subsites/classpages. Any site I design for a school has this functionality built in and it is key to keeping the site looking fresh.
