Forefront TMG do I need additional web filtering?

    Hi folks,
I work in a large secondary school and are currently using ISA 2004 with Surfcontrol for our Firewall and web filtering. However we need to move on and i'm looking at migrating to Forefront TMG. The question is will I need SurfControl/ WebSense to continue my web filtering or will the URL filtering feature in Forefront do the job?

    Many thanks,
    Brad.

You could look into the Microsoft Threat Management Gateway 2010 subscription. I believe its roughly 1.40 per PC on a 12 month subscription basis this would give a good base layer of protection

Thanks for the post but that is what I am already proposing to use. The question is do I need additional protection or will TMG offer enough protection

IME TMG doesn't do a great job of being education focussed, but I'd certainly be wary of continuing surf control in these days of austerity.

As an extra you can use config your dns servers to point to opendns. It will reduce the load on your TMG box as well.
