Morning Gang,
We are having some problems with our browser timing out and constantly needing refreshed. One example is an offsite web based room booking system we are using.
By the time someone has checked the room the period and put in some booking notes, then you click on the book button and it just seems to hang until you click refresh and enter the details in a tad quicker.
I have been up and down browser settings and I cannot find anything to adjust someone said a firewall setting could cause a timeout issue, but was wondering if anyone else has had this weird experience before or could give us a few pointers?
Thanks in advance!

16th November 2010, 10:56 AM #3 Hi webman, thanks for the swift response, the site does not require logging back in again, unless left for a considerable amount of time (understandibly). We just have to click the refresh button to reload and enter the details in again a bit quicker and press book. We have raised a ticket with the company in the past, but when tested at their end all seems fine?

19th November 2010, 05:32 PM #4 hi
i would advise you to try the following:
- if you are using internet explorer trying adding the site you are having an issue with to the trusted zone
- try using another browser i.e safari or firefox if the site supports it to see if you have the same issue
- to eliminate if its a firewall/proxy issue i would recommend you test this from a PC that is not behind a firewall i.e at home using home broaband or on your laptop using a 3g dongle if you have one.
hope this helps

22nd November 2010, 09:39 AM #6 Thanks for all the responses - I am going to say this is firewall related as we have a fortinet box which just hasn't been that great and more upstream filtering by the grid. Can't wait until we change our connection and filtering system in April I tell thee

22nd November 2010, 11:53 AM #7 Andy, try bumping the auth timeout on the fortinet unit - IIRC they come out of the box with it set quite aggressively.
