As ever we are looking for a different cheaper broadband service and wondered if the following would work OK. The providers I've talked to only supply one fixed IP with an 8 meg capacity ..contention can be 1/1 or more depending on how much we want to pay .... So my thinking is to setup the system as follows ...

Internally a private network 192.168 etc
All pc's taking to the outside world via Squid or any other caching proxy ... Filtering via smoothwall or similar.
We keep RM easymail.

This is for a small primary where file uploads and downloads are not used much. Its just web browsing mainly

Sounds simple but is it?
