Any Video Conferencing that works through RBC filters?

One of my schools would like to video confernence to another school in Lancs.

Has anyone got suggestions for a product that stands a chance of getting through county filtering restrictions?

    regards

    Simon

I believe there is a setup through JANET - not sure what they use though. It might be worth a call to your RBC, if that's possible, maybe via your County IT helpdesk.

(Lots of maybe's and perhaps's there as I am the other side of the hills.)

There is a CLEO Video conferencing facility. Give me a ring if you want more info.

if its just to another school in lancs you should be ok SI, you should be able to just enter the cleo ip address of the other schools video conferencing device and it should work ok. i've not tried it for a few years but i guess it should be ok.

PM me if you want to give it a try and i'll give you my ip address.

Ta for suggestions - I'm just using normal webcams not ip cams so need some sort of server (I think anyway!).

The CLEO VC setup is too cumbersome to use (requires static IPs and grandma's signature etc)

Tried WebEx (as its used by NPQH candiates so isn't blocked) and got it working between 2 of my schools

So that might do as long as they want to do it within the next 2 weeks(14 day trial)

    regards

    Simon
