Hi All,
Sorry about this, anybody experiencing this problem since the new smoothwall update to allow more than 1 authentication method,
None of my users can login at all, they are all coming up as banned users, ive re-created the Active directory link but its a no go
All the tests come back fine and i can see the AD groups but Na-Da im afraid!

10th June 2010, 09:34 PM #2 Mart - if you are really stuck, try our US support number - should still be open for a bit yet, and in situations like this im sure they'll pitch in
Sorry to hear the update has caused you problems - there've been in excess of 230 users installed so far, and i've only heard a handful of teething troubles, so hopefully we'll get you back on your feet fairly sharpish.
I'll be in from 0800 tomorrow - call me if it is still giving gyp.

This is part of the log...
Jun 10 21:37:30 s_sys@smoothwall authd Result from LDAP server ldap://******.solsch.org.uk:389: base OU=Network Users,DC=solsch,DC=org,DC=uk, filter (&(objectClass=user)(sAMAccountName=moseleym)): success, 1 objects, 0 referrals

10th June 2010, 10:34 PM #5 Hi Tom,
After a bit of fudging with a few Advanced settings in Auth settings, BANG...all the users started to come in on the user activity, from what i gathered from the logs, it seemed that every query on Active directory was going to a OU that nobody was in! so everyone was getting banned.
Thanks again for your help!

11th June 2010, 07:44 AM #6 Mart, glad its fixed - but here I am logged in at 0745! That's fair normal for me mind
I wonder if the search roots were incorrectly populated. Would be interested to know if you can remember what advanced settings you fiddled with.
Apologies for the hassle that caused you - we are fairly confident in our settings import routines, but it seems they may have failed here. If you run into any further problems, please do not hesitate to ring the support guys.

11th June 2010, 08:46 AM #7 Hi Tom!...Wow! 7:45!Although saying that, im normally in and around by 7:30
Yeah Ive just looked the search root that was populated was "Extra user search roots" which was set to our "Users" OU - Which nobody is contained in, Removing this seems to have solved that issue, took about an hour last night fiddling to sort!...but at least it saved me getting up mega early lol
Thanks again for your help Tom,
Mart
