Hi,

We've just got ours shiny new Smoothwall up and running. We've come across a problem with sites that use forms (hotmail, ebay feedback etc), and all that is logged is

*DENIED-POST* Banned outgoing form data: unknown
Blanket block

I've got a call into support who are a bit stumped - has anyone else come across this problem?

Hm. It sounds to me like you have something marginally misconfigured - there is a form-post logger, which is supposed to pick up bad words in posts - but not block everything. Let me have a poke about and I'll see where the setting lives...

guardian » filtering » outgoing <- uncheck "enable filtering and logging", see if that fixes it. If it does... well, we can then work back to the "real" problem

Hi Tom,

Message censor was indeed the problem - it was enabled and a policy existed for students to block everything. Just checking my groups now to see why the student policy is being applied to staff.
