    http://m.gmgrd.co.uk/res/483.$plit/C_71_article_491702_BodyWeb_Detail_0_Image.jpg

The thumbnail is a different image to the full size one (stating the obvious?)

The thumbnail is hosted at http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ep8rkAr28zWpzM:http://m.gmgrd.co.uk/res/483.$plit/C_71_article_491702_BodyWeb_Detail_0_Image.jpg not at the other URL you have blocked.

What you need is a filter that can do deep URL filtering - and pick out the secondary URL.

Have you tried the "brute force" method of a regex on the origin domain?

Works fine here - are you sure the image isn't still working because it's in your local/proxy cache?

That's not a redirect in the URL - just a massively long parameter whatnot for Google - the thumbnail loads fine with only http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ep8rkAr28zWpzM

Is this a privacy thing? Can you not just get the original web site to remove the image if that's the case?
