    Smoothwall: opening ports in guardian

I could be getting the wrong end of the stick here but any who ....

I'm getting this error message when i try and view performance tab in VSphere and i'm assuming it's to do with not allowing me to the the page as it's on a non standard port.

Smoothwall has blocked me from viewing webpages before as they are on funny ports, how do i open these ports up?

If it's an internal vsphere server, i'd suggest you wang it in "do not proxy for", as there's no point wasting your CPU power proxying it 127.0.0.1 is not an IP you should proxy for anyway, as it generally means something different to the proxy!

Otherwise, if you're accessing an external URL with a wibbly port, for whatever reason, it's in "advanced" on the web proxy page, you need to add to the "Allow access to web servers on these additional ports:" list.

    HTH.

Generally, in your web browser (LAN Settings in IE), as it's too late by the time it has got past there IYSWIM.

If your proxy settings are via proxy.pac, you can do it from Smoothie though.
