Hi All!
Recently purchased a UTM-1000, was workin great when i first booted it...but then it was put away until the summer where it will come into commision!
Re-arranged our racking today, and put the smoothwall in place, booted it up and all i get on the LCD is "Network Appliance"...and cannot do anything else and is unaccesable...:S
Any Ideas?

I'd give Smoothwall Support at tinkle as it sounds like its not wanting to boot to me, but give them a buzz and they will excell at helping as ever![]()
Hey - you could try a serial cable on the console to see what it's up to, details in the manual but should be 9600-8-N-1, or failing that please give support a call.
If the box has been off for a while it may be doing a filesystem consistency check. Although I would have expected it to have finished by now

Hi All!
Just spoke to smoothwall support! = FANTASTIC!
Plugging in a serial console worked a treat and speaking to support, it was trying to run a file system check and it found some errors which needed the root password!
