All users have a <username>@mcc enabled in AD.
Think i may phone support because i dont want to start messing around with the sam thing.
That is a bit unusual
Code:
smoothauthd LDAP user search user=test@MEDINA.SCHOOL filter=(userPrincipalName=test@MEDINA.SCHOOL) searchbase=ou=Users,ou=Medina,dc=medina,dc=school
The Netbios is MEDINA, The domain is medina.school, the user principle is medina.school.

my reply was too late
I should think you have renamed the domain in the past and those are old users who existed in it before the change? New users would be created with the correct upn.
