    It's the other way round. The support site uses a commercial 3rd party program called Kayako. Its in-built licensing thinks there is a mismatch between which domains have been paid for and which you are visiting. Strangely it does this on the client end. So it's not SSLI that does not like the support site but the support site that does not like SSLI. Unfortunately that part of the Kayako software is closed source so we can't fix it so we have to add a work-around to SSLI.

    The irony is not lost on me though

    As as aside, I've heard "wonderful" things about Kayako and their own support model...

    Colleague of mine in the States has pointed out that they lost hair because of the inept business, support and general communication strategies from the company..

    Does this apply to network guardian as well? Our LEA provided us with a license for it and I've been testing it recently to replace my own custom dansguardian/squid setup

    DrCheese: yes, this applies to all '08 SmoothWall products. The updates are "per module" so you'll naturally only get what's relevant (eg. you won't get firewall updates)

    Just installed FP2 - thought initially it had killed my Smoothwall! Went to the server and the hard drive light was on solid chugging away after the reboot so waited ten mins and it came back online.

    Report function does look much better Going to look into the SSL enhancements tomorrow.

    Very likely it's been a while since you rebooted and it took the opportunity for a disk check. Same thing happened to one of the developers' home smoothies today. He thought it dead but no - was just running a disk check.

    We are looking at reducing or removing disk checks such as moving to a different file system in the next major version. For example: ext4 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    Can I ask... Is there an index of the reports available and what information they actually provide... Trying to go through them all manually is very time consuming and frustrating as I have no idea where to find basic stuff like blocked sites for specific groups, etc... so I can troubleshoot the filter.

    Thx in advance

    Excellent

    Code:
    $tom['task'] = "Report List";
    $tom['eta'] = 1; // eta = days
    $tom['time'] = $tom['eta'] + $dayspassed;

    if($tom['time'] > 0 && $tom['time'] <= 1) {
      gentleprod();
    }
    elsif($tom['time'] > 1 && $tom['time'] <= 2) {
      kickupbackside();
    }
    elsif($tom['time'] >= 2) {
      visitofficewithhormonalpregnantwife();
    }
    Think that should help

    For that particular report do as follows:

    Go to the reporting page.
    Click on Web Content.
    Click on Top Domains.
    Click on Top blocked domains excluding adverts. Do not change the group pull down (unless you want to)

    That will display top blocked domains. You can then click on the domain you might be interested in and you will see a drill down menu which includes "Top groups who have requested this domain".

    Hopefully that will get you the information you want.

    But if not let us know. And, indeed, any other reports you think we should include by default.

    The layout of the included reports has been tried to match how one might approach a requirement. So if the main thing is users then start at users. If you want to know about content (or blocked content) start at Web Content. Feedback is welcome.

    It is coming as a limited public release early next week. If you are really interested in getting a copy, drop me an email.

    Some of my reports seem to be missing certain information. Shall I assume that this information has on just started to be collected and therefore wont be available in abundance?

    That may well be the case. Give me a call if you still don't get what you need after a day or two.
