Blocking websites in ABT6
Hi all,
I'm currently using AB Tutor Control v6 & am trying to block a website using it's policy facility. The website is https://imo.im/
In their documentation, AB say that as the URL is encrypted on sites using SSL, you need to enter the IP address of the website instead of it's name.
I've managed to find an IP for the website using one of the plethora of WHOIS sites around since they deregulated domain registration and have tried
64.13.161.61
*64.13.161.61* and
64.13.161.61*
but the pupils can still get on the website. I've emailed AB Support with the qeury, but in the meantime I thought I'd see if anyone here has had any success in blocking https sites with ABTC.
Many thanks,
Ian

Just to let you know, AB got back to me this morning and advised creating a Block Application policy and adding *imo* as an exception.
Tried it, and it works a treat.
