    Smoothwall Banned Issue

    Hiya,

Just a SMALL issue really and its nothing thats wrong,

When we DISABLE a student on Active Directory, is there any way that Smoothwall will block internet access for them? instead of having to add a temporary ban in the web UI?

    Ta, Mart

I think thats caused because the auth service uses a cache of credentials. If you restart the auth service I think the user would lose the net ability I am guessing. The question would be though, how can they logon to use the internet?
Tom will have to confirm my theory.

Shouldn't take particularly long for the auth cache to recognise someone's missing - its usually a matter of minutes for a change to propagate. Are they ending up in "default users" by any chance?

I will talk to the auth developers.

As far as we're aware, you'll end up in default users if you're marked disabled.
