I have a problem, IE7 fails for some users, if they are away from their "normal" computer. Logged on as a user on 35 computers the web worked on 6. Changed the users to admin, same 6 worked. Logged in as a user we use for open day ALL machines work on the net. Cannot see any differences in the user settings. Can ping the proxy server on machine were the web fails. IP settings in IE7 are ok.

2nd March 2009, 11:10 PM #3 Download the IE7 ADM Template File.
This allows you to lock down policies for both IE6 and IE7, including new features included in IE7 such as 'Runonce' which is a nuisance!

Disabled runonce in policy somewhere, is that it? Will go and check, have lost a lot of time hunting it. Will try the Adm file as well. IE7 adm was in place. Runonce is back but the internet is not.
Just no http whatever browser.

Proxy OK, ping OK, but no internal or external browsing. Today all teachers logged on None of them could surf. I have an open connection that works fine.

5th March 2009, 12:05 AM #9 Is your Gateway IP setup OK? If you do:
From a command prompt, is everything correct? Within DHCP on your server, go to 'Scope Options'. You should have something like this:
Code:
003 Router 192.168.0.1
006 DNS Servers 192.168.0.2, 192.168.0.3, 192.168.0.4
015 DNS Domain Name YOURDOMAIN.COM

25th March 2009, 08:06 PM #12 Fixed at last
Policy Central Client, out of date caused all the problems! Got an uninstaller from them and a new client all is well. There had been an upgrade to version 3, I had version 2.1.1.1 and 2.1.1.2, clients, major problems with anything http related. Thanks all
