    isa 2006 & Second Life

I am attempting to get access to second life for the school through isa 2006, have enabled all the ports as recommended on the second life site, had a chat with the company that the school has hired to create our schools second life environment to make sure all the ports are correct(they are). Can get as far as the login box. When I try to login I get the wonderfully helpful message(something appears to have gone wrong - WTF I know that FFS!!).

Must explain we use isa as a back firewall behind a sonicwall 4100. Going to spend the next 3 night after school troube shooting this so any help/advice would be gratefully accepted.

Have you tried running wireshark to see all the traffic heading out while running second life?

could give you an indication as to what's failing

Heres the protocol rule that we use, was working the last time anyone actually ran the program (couple of months ago). Hope it helps.

Wireshark was always in my plans, Hadn't tried/seen the secondary connection before will give that a try, the other ports are what I already had open.

Right after three hours of playing I have now come the conclusion it's ISA that is causing the problem. Testing has proven that second life works well straight out to the internet, it also now works through the sonic wall box (although had a time error at first). Just will not work through ISA 2006 (ports on the sonic box are replicated on the Isa box), have a few more tests to run on the isa box to try and determine whether it's a routing issue or something more complicated going on.

Is ISA trying to force some kind of authentication? This will definitely fail.

Second Life is a complete nightmare to get working behind ISA and the company has absolutely no interest in helping (one of my former colleagues did get it working eventually with ISA 2004 but then the set of ports being used changed and it all fell over again!)
