    Question Internet Speed?

    Hi folks,

Just curious what Internet speed your school has, specifically the fastest speed on whatever your primary connection is for the pedants.

Edit: this is a poll btw, so click the relevant option.

(I appreciate it's going to be proportional to pupils, but as it's not possible to do more complex polls...)

    TIA

Internet 'speed'. I'm from New Zealand and an unfamiliar with that term in relation to the internet.

100 Meg each way here. We get about 80 Meg each way during a standard day.

100m each way at the moment. Looking at costs to upgrade to 200m.

100Mb leased line, but contention is significant. Actual speeds can vary from anywhere around 80Mbps down to 5Mbps depending on the day, and what all the other schools in the WAN are doing. That speed is for a 550 pupil school (max users at any one time is about 250).

Ha. Many of the small rural schools down in Devon are on a BT 2mb leased line copper connection. They are being moved to bonded ADSL which "might" give up to3 mb download. Heaven knows what the upload will be. ....
Cloud services will be wonderful won't they.
