If it is an internal domain, only some companies will issue them - I've not heard of GoDaddy issuing them.

However, something to note - whilst some companies will still issue intranet SSL certificates, they will all only issue ones valid until November 2015 I believe. This is due to an agreement that has been drawn up by the industry to stop issuing internal SSL certs by 2016.

The advised way of dealing with it is to have your own internal CA if it is for your intranet, however this will not help with BYOD devices as they still won't trust your CA.

We have managed to get a certificate from godaddy and smoothwall support have installed this for us. It now shows that it has been supplied and verified by godaddy. There is still a slight problem though in that BYOD still are refusing to trust it???

As its a godaddy cert I realised there is a cert file called gd_bundle.crt too that needs putting in for it to use it as a CA to enable it to be trusted. Trouble is what do I need to do I have found a file called httpd.conf.part which by Jon Witts guide says I need to add a line called SSLCertificateChainFile and specify the intermediate cert path but I have also come across another site saying I need to add a line of SSLCACertificateFile and specify a path to the gd_bundle.crt, the latter guide is for Apache though not smoothwall specific. Please could someone shed some light on what I need to do for this bit as I think this is why it still shows as untrusted on BYOD devices.

    Cheers
