    Blocking Firefox Addons

Does anyone know how to block the firefox addons?

It has been noted that students can install the Twitter addon and then get onto Twitter. We are an RM site with LGFL

    Thanks

There is public fox. How you deploy it to all users profiles will be the tough part. If twitter.com is blocked shouldnt the addon stop working?

To prevent students installing add-ons you need to set xpinstall.enabled to false in your mozilla.cfg file or enable Disable XPI Installs in Group Policy if using the Front Motion CE MSI. These settings won't make any difference to users who already have the add-on installed however (only future add-on installations).

Blocking Twitter on your proxy should prevent the add-on from working (unless it is accessing the website another way?). Make sure you are blocking both HTTP and HTTPS URLs.

Alternatively, switch to Google Chrome since it is much easier to control through Group Policy.
