HELP: From anyone using a county wide web filtering system

    Hi All

Firstly thanks for any help you can give me!

I work within Oxford University Press (OUP) and we are about to release a new Platform for secondary schools. While piloting within Oxfordshire we noticed that our streaming media content needs to be white-listed within Netsweeper (something we are sorting now). The incredibly kind Network Manager we spoke to highlighted that posting a message on this forum will help find other providers that are across multiple schools and/or county wide. The importance of this system being across schools is really vital here, because any school and network manager not able to control the system in full (esp around white-listing) will need us (OUP) to contact them company and liaise with them.

It would be great to know about these providers before launch so if you think your provider fits the description above then please let me know.

    Thanks in advance

    Pete Jackson

Worth talking to smoothwall, although users/customers can whitelist your content it may be worth working with smoothwall as they could probably make the process easier for by controlling how it get categorized.

Smoothwall will be a good one so might websense and lightspeed. You might want to contact Palo alto too, they are becoming popular in schools too.
