    BBC Audio

    Hi all,

Does anybody know where the audio files on the bbc stream from?
We have this site; BBC - GCSE Bitesize: Activity
The audio commentry plays fine for staff but not for students.
I've looked in the source code and cannot see where the audio is coming from but suspect the stream is filtered.

If anyone has any pointers at all I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks, Ed

Have you tried whitelisting the site and sticking it at the top of the webfilter > policies ? There may be a policy blocking it somewhere.

Hi Gaz, Yes I have, we use Netsweeper (LEA provided) for filtering and there are no other bbc rules except permit bbc.co.uk/schools/ - no deny rules for bbc.co.uk at all.

    Thanks, Ed

Arh sorry, I just forget that because there are so many Smoothwall users on this forum that there are also users of other filters too.
Perhaps a flash element is being blocked? Is there a verbose option for logs?

Sadly nothing useful at all in the way of logs - I have visited the site with our test user and requested an access report but it takes a day or so before it actually gets generated! The strange thing is that the video itself plays and the music is playing, its just the voice commentry missing... Really strange, I would expect an all or nothing!

If it isn't obviously your web filter, try your firewall. In particular, the flash object might be using RTMP (port 1935) as a streaming transport.
