    .pac help

    At my school, this girl got youtube banned with dans-guardian by searching very offensive and inappropriate stuff on it, but i like to watch youtube during recess and lunch, and it helps me study, which is really helpful since i don't have a lot of time at home.

    If this is my proxy.pac, how do i unban youtube? If this is even where it is blocked from.

    Code:
    function FindProxyForURL(url, host){
      var lhost = host.toLowerCase();
      host = lhost;

      var lurl = url.toLowerCase();
      url = lurl;

      var proxy = "PROXY e4054s01sv002.green.schools.internal:8080";

      if ((isPlainHostName(host)) ||
          (shExpMatch(host, "localhost.*")) ||
          (host == "127.0.0.1"))
      {
        return "DIRECT"
      }

      if (shExpMatch(host,"portal.det.wa.edu.au") ||
          shExpMatch(host,"*.schools.internal") ||
          shExpMatch(host,"moodle.rockingham.wa.edu.au") ||
          shExpMatch(host,"e4054s01sv*")
         )
      {
        return "DIRECT";
      }

      var hostip = dnsResolve(host);
      if ((isInNet(hostip, "10.1.0.0", "255.255.0.0")) ||
          (isInNet(hostip, "10.25.0.0", "255.255.0.0"))||
          (isInNet(hostip, "10.237.0.0", "255.255.0.0")) ||
          (isInNet(hostip, "10.236.0.0", "255.255.0.0")))
      {
        return "DIRECT";
      }

      if ((url.substring(0,4) == "ftp:") ||
          (url.substring(0,5) == "http:") ||
          (url.substring(0,6) == "https:"))
      {
        return proxy;
      } else {
        return "DIRECT";
      }
    }
    if this is not where it is blocked from, where might it be blocked from?

    You need to talk to your teachers, maybe they can put you in a special group for youtube access.

    Trying to hack your way to youtube after your schools technicians have blocked access is not the way to impress them.

    i'm not trying to impress anyone, it just helps me a lot with work, teachers make no exceptions.

    The Proxy.pac file is there to tell your PC where the proxy server is, it doesn't block or unblock websites. Dansguardian is a webfilter, YouTube will be blocked there. The only way you're going to get YouTube unblocked is to speak to the admins and make a request to have it unblocked. Attempting to circumnavigate your school's filtering systems is going to be a breach of your network AUP and will lead to trouble for you.

    Speak to people, ask nicely and something may happen. If you can't talk to the network admins directly, talk to the teachers instead and ask them to make a request on your behalf. If you have to, make an appeal to your school leadership team and make the point that it's not fair to punish everyone for the misbehaviour of one student. There are ways and means around this and trying to bypass the filter is not one of them. Continue on the path that you're on and at best you'll find your internet access revoked, at worst you may find yourself suspended. Trying to bypass your filter and break your school systems is not the way to go.

    This is a professional forum for Educational IT Support Staff, unfortunately bypassing your schools Internet blocks is not something we are going to be able help you with.
    It would unprofessional of us and its a question of child protection and duty of care, which is something we all have to take very seriously.

    Is there a teacher there who would be prepared to put your case for you being allowed special access?
