Who remembers the days of dial-up modems, when Dyn was DynDNS free and not a trial and we use to use it to remote in to our home network from work or run a webserver? Well one one of developers of ZPanel | The free web hosting panel, a free and open-source version of cpanel/directadmin, has released a free alternative to Dyn, http://Www.bindhub.com.
I didn't know you had to pay either. I use their service and still doesn't cost me anything, but I might be grandfathered in or something. I've had an account with them for almost a decade. That sucks too since most home routers have DynDNS support built right in.
Well, I'm just trying this now. D-Link maintain the DynDNS system (for free) and you can still get a free account via them here: https://www.dlinkddns.com/login
Yep same here, free but if you don't use the account (IE update the IP) the account can expire. They also try and force you in to paying at every turn but the simple DDNS service is still free for me anyway.
