Try changing a PCs dns settings to use google dns 220.127.116.11 - Does the internet work now?

will try tomorrow morning and let you know. is there anything related to proxy server settings?

Assuming your gateway isn't the proxy, take the proxy out of the equation as we are testing DNS right now. Remove any proxy settings and try the interwebs. Or better yet just ping bbc.co.uk (assuming no firewalls block pings)

So - to recap
your computers can see the server in the IT suite.
cannot connect to the internet - is that right?
The office computers, on a different domain, can see the internet?
How does the internet come in to the school?
Do you use a caching server?

You are correct ict room computers can see the server but no Internet. Office is not part of the domain can see the server. Our Internet come from BT and we not use caching server. Just straight to main com cabinet. I called Virginia for update they said we are still LGFL1 and it is still supported by capita and waiting for their response

- Rep Power
cant be cause you said you tried googles DNS of 18.104.22.168??

Sounds like it could be a Gateway issue to me.

You can't always just use an external DNS if your network relies on internal 'proxy' addresses for instance a Google DNS wouldn't pick up the correct entries for your network and would not work.

Problem solved. One of the ethernet switch connected to server is dead.
Thank you for your valuable help.
