This user must also own the server process.
The database cluster will be initialized with locale C.

It looks like you have not installed as per insructions which you have to follow to the letter. Is this the new software or the old 2006 software. There is new software due out soon so if it is the old 2006 i would wait til the new one and make a clean install on a dedicated server ok.

I'm waiting for the new software to be released before attempting to install it on my servers.
Need to reread the documentation about getting the pupil details out of SIMS...

@tosca
Software will be with you in november (last i heard) second you umust do upgrade the reason behind it as follows.
To do an install then need key which you dont have and rm wont send you new one unless yo are installing on new server.
Second if you do install and manage to get it installed your server will try and add a new a server to the cps and then this causes major issues whch means work for everybody including your self.
So upgrade you must anyway the upgrade is best proccess as it means you have last year results etc..

Never realised that Russ, at this moment in time i am not sure if it will be put onto a new server or not (as you will see from a mammoth post I'll be making asking for a new DC config help) But after this info i get the sort of feeling to leave well alone :-)
