Talking about flogging a dead horse..
Is everyone ready? I got a spam email from RM saying they will be updating our server at the end of October. No they bloody wont because I've removed all the KS3 ICT stuff (for now, at least, until SMT can find their arse from their elbow)![]()

Some of us think the new look ict software will be of use and have left it on. Some of us have got year 9 based around software. In some ways you have nothing to lose looking at software when it comes out you never know your ict teachers might find it useful.
But then I am thinking they shouldn't of got rid of it in first place. For issues some people had (for record we had very little issues with it) it did one thing put ICT as subject forward as key subject. Got schools thinking about there teaching of ICT and turn it up notch and get away from this thinking of ICT is keyskills.
But key thing with new RM software is spend this year looking at it see if it fits your ict teachers needs and if think it would be useful look at how your are going to use it.

Yeah we got that email too - shame we deleted all that 'software' from our server the moment it was announced the tests were being scrapped. The ICT Coordinator and I couldn't get if off fast enough - the software that isOriginally Posted by TeddyKGB

The only good place for this software is the recycle bin. The whole thing was flawed from start to finish. Can't blame RM, they had to try to implement it, failed as usual of course!

we've still got it loaded on, as it didn't cause us any real problems. We havn't used it for over a year thou, and I doubt it will be used again, but all the time it don't interfere with anything, we'll leave it.
We too got that e-mail. We were very surprised, as we thought RM had long since stopped development work on it, obviously we were wrong!
Mike.

We've still got to use itSpent ages trying to get Postgres fixed on our server; we had to phone RM and they helped us get up and running again.
The highlight of yesterday was removing all traces of this ghastly stuff from our servers.
The Email had reminded me that it was still installed - but not any more!
The quality of IT provision in our school is excellent, with no need at all for this over-blown, clunky, boring, irritating box-ticking exercise.
RIP!!!
