Remove page number from PDF

Does anyone have any brilliant ways of removing a page number from a pdf document. We have some documents that are meant to be printed out like booklet but some genius has put page numbers on it which makes no sense when its stapled into a booklet style.

Any suggestions?

I've used this free software to draw boxes over items on PDFs and fill them in to "erase" parts of a PDF.

Import into OpenOffice draw and put a white box over the page number
