Combining email accounts
I've migrated our school generic email accounts to MS Live@Edu however at the moment any emails sent from within the county domain are automatically still delivered to the old email server hosted by the LEA.
This means at the moment the Receptionists, Heads PA etc... have to check 2 email accounts.
Every member of staff also has a google mail account provided by the LEA.
2 Receptionists both check the office@ email account and the Heads PA and the Head check the head@ account
Can I add the office@ email account as an external account in google to both the receotionists googlemail accounts and similarly do the same for the Head and his PA or will it all get confused?
Ta.

A few things to check first before I give a fuller answer.
Are you using the same domain on Live@Edu as you used to on the old system?
Who has control of your DNS? Both internal to the LA and external?

We have control over the external DNS and the LEA controls the WAN side of it.

Ok, you need to get the LA to change the MX records on *their* DNS to match yours on the external DNS.
I am presuming that you are using the external DNS as your primary DNS for the domain and the LA as secondary (or tertiary).
Depending on how the filtering is applied to accounts on the LA system it might even mean that any message sent from a mailbox on the LA service to another user on the LA service would be directed out and to the live@edu service.
If the LA system is completely closed in routing messages between users in the same school and also between schools, then it will not be until the service is removed from the LA system that you will get it working fully.
