I have recently bought some AT-WA7400 WAPs. I've setup my Radius and Certifcate server and I've pointed the first WAP at it I've set up the security to WPA2 but all I'm getting is "Attempting to Authenticate" and after "Windows was unable to log you on to the network <SSID>" I've setup the dialing chanegs for the user et cetera has anyone setup one of these before with WPA2?

Windows XP doesn't support WPA2. See this KB article on how to add it.

Okay thanks for that! Erm..? It's worked with my laptop but not with the other not sure why as yet but evbery time I try and log on it can't find my roaming profile et cetera and waits until I've logged on to get an I address. Does anyone know how I go about setting up the Computer not the user to have a certificate so it can get the IP address info first!

Have you created a wireless policy in active directory? In that you can set it for machine authentication only.
What are you using EAP-TLS, EAP-TTLS, PEAP, LEAP.
Some more info on your setup would help.
Do you have a certificate authority, what radius server are you using to authenticate your users.

Perhaps the installation software that came with your Laptops wifi drivers includes the support for WPA2 on XP and installs it as part of the driver installation process.Quote:

Yes I do and It's windows 2003 IAS, CA and IIS. It allows me to ask for a cert and then allows me to install but the wireless NIC still doesn't find the network even when I tell it the SSID and I have left it on broadcast while I'm setting it up.Quote:

OKay so I've followed all the steps from the ServerBlog pages.
Everything seems to work up until you connect to the wireless access point that is. I've installed the Intel PROSet/Wireless software to get a better indication of the errors and to update my drivers. I get the following when trying to attach to the wireless AP.

Any thoughts occur with this? Looks like its trying to validate my user account when really it should be using the computers name and the cert I've auto installed via GPO? I'm using WPA not WPA2 now as well tried it as WEP which of course works flawlessly :(

Has anyone got the instructions that where on serverroom blogsto do with setting up a RADIUS SERVER ON WIN 2003
The website is coming up with a 404 error cannot access any of the docs there
If anyone has the radius server instructions from there please let me have them also if anyone has a mirrror of that website then please can we have a full copy of all the docs info.

Managed to get it running however it won't let me use the wireless card to log on to the domain just says its not available? Any Ideas on this guys?

Are you using the intel software to manage the login or windows zero config.
There is a setting in the ProSet software about pre logon.

The proset? I'm looking at just setting it up with a long WEP key and then locking down the system at a later date. I would prefer not to however.

Are the options WPA and WPA2 haven't worked for me as yet so I'm experimenting with 802.1x external auth on radius 2003 server.
