How do you monitor your network and which network monitoring tool do you use?
Nagios and Cacti for network traffic, server resource and downtime monitoring. Intellipool Network Monitor for environment monitoring - but I am going to look at merging this in with nagios and cacti.
Another vote for Nagios... look at the wiki for how to set it up!
Nagios and cacti here also. Plus I have ntop on my firewall. I also have a laptop with wireshark + netstumbler.
Nagios, and I'm just working on a redundant installation on another machine elsewhere in the building, because our power is so flaky. Otherwise if the first box cuts out, I don't know about it.
Edit: and MRTG for routers, with the data dropped into Nagios.
Nagios here, wireshark for protocol analysis, netstumbler and a wi-spy for wireless.
Ben
We have just started using Nagios, is cacti easy to use with nagios?
cheers

Another vote for nagios here.
3com Network Supervisor is one - free but registration required (http://www.3com.com/tns/)
Quest Big Brother - free version (http://www.bb4.org/download.html)
Quest Spotlight - free (http://www.quest.com/spotlight-on-windows/)
As a few...
Nagios and Cacti - I think Cacti is a brill bit of kit - and has helped identify several network issues.
Hi All,
I have just loaded spiceworks for systems monitoring /reporting. Looks pretty powerfull and is free. Anyone with experience of this software?
I have just started using Spiceworks. Seems to work well, no problems yet.
