Home access for SIMS
Given the state that our SIMS has gotten into in the last few years, and the fact that its going to take someone ( I wonder who), months to get all the data in SIMS corrected..the idea of home access to SIMS has cropped up.
I remember a few discussions in the past about it on here, and am wondering what the consensus is on the easiest method. Those people who have gone this route, which method did you use? TS? VPN? Something else?
Am thinking VPN is going to be the easiest.

LEA provide Sun Global Desktop and a handful of licenses to do it here in Lancs.

I sometimes run it over VPN but to be honest its scarily slow and often I wonder if its going to cause corruption should things fall over. - TS works nicely for us on the rare occassions its used.
- I'm sure its the kind of thing that will crop up here this year.

Yeah although VPN struck me as the easiest/quickest to setup, I was concerned about any speed issues.
SUN desktop would be quite useful, wonder if our LEA will do that as well. Will have to investigate that.

We needed to give access to two users. I just enabled RDP access to an old server we had, installed SIMS on it and works fine. They were happy.

We use terminal services, works fine. I actualy use a it a fair bit because I havn't got round to installing sims on my workstation.
