Spam filtering on an exchange 2007 box...

...what do people use? Pro's and con's?!?

Hi Ben, if you have 2003 onwards have you tried the built in Intelligent Message Filter. Details of how to configure here:

Alsso take a look at mail proxies that sit in front of Exchange and check for spam, viruses, etc. before the mail even reaches Exchange. Proxmox is an open source option for this.

Sorry ben I did not read your post title properly. I am running 2003 but it looks like Exchange 2007 does a similar thing, found these links below:

Microsoft do a Spam / Anti-virus program, as do others, Sophos Puremessage is good (I can't believe im recomending a Sophos Product!?) but it does work fine for me on E-mails. They also make a Hardware Box that you put between the web and exchange.

Excellent, thanks for all your input. I'm already building an edge server as we speak so IMF can go on there (along with forefront probably). I'll trial a few other apps too. Just wanted peoples real experience and effectiveness for packages x, y and z.
